Milton & DCR T16-1 – Blue Hill Parkway Traffic Improvements & Road Reconstruction

The purpose of this project was to make traffic, roadway, sidewalk, street lighting and streetscape/landscaping improvements along Blue Hills Parkway from Eliot Street to Mattapan Square with signal system related modifications at three intersections north of Mattapan Square and one south of Eliot Street. The scope included full traffic signal upgrade, new traffic controllers at four locations with full signal coordination timing. The work will also included geometric modifications, areas of box widening, area of pavement removal and replacement, pavement milling and overlay, remove and resetting curb, installation of new granite curb, new sidewalks, sections of multi-use bike path, construction of stone balance walls, drainage improvements, installation of an ornamental street lighting system, creation of rain gardens, loam & seed and landscaping. The work will also include pavement markings and signing including a new overhead sign structure.
